OISCA International is one of the major Japan based Non Government Organization and the South India chapter of OISCA is a registered NGO with the Government of India. OISCA International was started in 1961 in Japan and the South India chapter of OISCA in 1985. OISCA South India has Special Consultative Status with UN. Since its inception the South India chapter has oriented its activities to the fundamental concept of sustainable development and plays a vital role in moulding young minds to feel love and concern about Mother Earth. As a recognition to our multidimensional environment protection activities in Educational Institutions (Childrens Forest Programme) the Government of India awarded us with the prestigious INDIRA PRIYADHARSHINI VRIKSHA MITHRA AWARD. This award in the name of late Prime Minister of India Mrs Indira Gandhi is given to NGO's, which makes outstanding contributions in the field of environment protection.
